I for one would apreciate the option of taking an "original" hero or merc along with some nifty little side quest so that when i join some other party i dont see 2 talkoras or whatnot. They would have the same characteristics, the only thing special about them would be the skin and the possiblity of some added extra content in the form of a quest/small story arc (paid for granted but is that not the case anyways).

Hm, there are tons of heroes already. More heroes is completely useless because you can only add 3 of them to your party. I hope ANet will allow a full-hero party, although Gaile said earlier they did not plan to do so.

Yes, they are tons, but currently it's impossible to experiment and try 'all of the same profession' combinations.

This would make everything possible.

I think it would be nice for those who do not have Nightfall to be able to get more than single heroes. Also those profession that are under represented like the assassin or mesmer could also be fully represented. The fact that spending money on extras gives players bonus weapons and dancing balls, the argument that it would favour the rich over the poor is spurious to say the least.

You fail at logic. With the exception of pre searing the weapons available in the bonus pack in the online store are comparable to collectors weapons in the most part and unless dancing balls blind your enemy they aren't even relevant.

I'll try making the point I made earlier but clearer.

Hero battles

Player 1 - Has all heroes available in game through normal channels.
Player 2 - Has all the heroes and the ones he's bought with his real cash, he now has access to 3 elementalists or three rangers or 3 assassins along with his own prof.

Player 1 does not.

On the subject of buying tangible in game advantages with real world cash, isn't that just a lot like ebaying?

There is a clear cut difference between PVP and PvE lets not get confused here milan.

Anet has already been experimenting with reducing the number of heroes in PvP and im sure they will continue tweeking the matter, restricting partys to a maximum of two heroes of the same primary class would not be a problem to them.

People who spend more cash towards this game, be it through the online store or in a "real world" store HAVE an advantage anyways, THAT is a fact. Someone who has all 3 chapters will have a better skillset than one who only has chapter one.

If anything this would enable people who did not buy NF or GwEN to have access to the hero mechanics without spending what would be required if they were to get the full game.

But the player with Nightfall and GW:EN has 3 rangers and 3 elementalists. The player that bought the PvP Editions has all skills unlocked without having to unlock them by playing. The fact is there are advantages to buying extras in the game already. To get collector weapons you have to play to get to the specific collector. Collectors are really great with heroes. The bonus weapons that came with GW:EN are pretty good, the hourglass staff and the icy sword are excellent for heroes without having to grind out the collector stuff.

Instead of ensaving people with monthlee fees, you just pay for extra content.
Selling heroes separately would be somehow a mistake, but putting them in a single pack or adding them to possible future content would be good.

Once there are 3 heroes of each type, eny more of them would be just aestetic. That's why the 6 I mentioned should come with something many people has or is going to get almost for sure, like by combinin GW:EN and other campaings, the bonus mission or whatever they add before GW2 is out (if they ever add something).

I completely agree with using new quests to add new heroes. That wouldnt be an issue because then everyone has equal access to them, regardless of ingame or real-world wealth.

Its when we start selling necessities in the online store for PvE that it starts to get bad. To sell stuff that gives you an advantage during pve play in the store isnt right, because your disadvantaging those who dont have real-world wealth.

Adding bonus weapons is ok, because weapons are ten-a-penny ingame.
Adding a bonus mission pack is also ok, because its not giving you any advantage in PvE.
Adding any unlocks for PvP is also ok, because you unlock everything for PvP anyway.

But if something gives a staggering advantage in gameplay within PvE , it should be aquired through playing the actual PvE aspect, either with quests or missions. All to make it fair on everyone in PvE.

We need to limit what PvE stuff we sell instore, otherwise it removes the need to actually play the pve to get stuff.
